Spreading Sparkles of Good, Everywhere
Each of us at MBIIS realise that we have the power to help, to teach, and to make things better. We ensure that each of us set aside time, to reach out, contribute and simply be the spark that ushers light.
Doing Good
DOING GOOD
“Do your little bit of good where you are; It is those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world.” - Desmond Tutu
At MBIIS our commitment is to create a generation that carries the baton of positive change and is the ambassador of goodwill and harmony. We constantly take initiatives that provide scaffolding for the holistic development of our children, inculcate in them an attitude of sensitivity and motivate them to give back to nature and their fellow beings. Contributing to society is a cause close to our hearts. In alignment with this commitment and cause, we have flagged off a new campaign - @MBIISdoinggood. The initiative aims at instilling in our children a sense of purpose and galvanizing them to take positive and inspiring actions for not only ‘being good’ but also ‘doing something good’ for the society at large. So join us and participate wholeheartedly in this initiative that we hope becomes a movement, gaining momentum with every act of ‘doing something good’. Let us use the power of @MBIISdoinggood to make a difference! We look forward to your support in helping us and
Walk for Life 2019
CanSupport’s Walk For Life – Stride Against Cancer event has become a much talked about and awaited annual feature of the Delhi calendar. CanSupport organized its Walk for Life: Stride against cancer, an initiative to show support to cancer patients, spread awareness among the masses, honour those lost to cancer and raise funds for CanSupport's palliative home care services for people with cancer in Delhi/NCR. On February 3, 2019, students from Classes VII & VIII along with their teachers participated in the walk wearing T-shirts provided by Can Support team. Children walked with cancer supporters, sponsors, volunteers, cancer survivors, cancer patients, their family members, well-wishers , thousands of other friends and pets on the Rajpath . 'The message was clear that we should celebrate life and reiterate that there is life beyond and after cancer.'
Nelson Mandela International Day
WHAT CAN I DO? No matter how small your action, Mandela Day is about changing the world for the better, just as Nelson Mandela did every day.
Action Against Poverty, honouring Nelson Mandela's leadership and devotion in the fight against poverty and to promote social justice for all was celebrated. To celebrate the true spirit of Nelson Mandela’s work for humanity, a group of school students along with Ms. Ankita Chakraborty and Ms. Divya Sood distributed nutritious snack to the students of APARAJITA School at Chitranjan Park, New Delhi. By becoming someone who makes every day a Mandela Day by taking action against poverty, our students showed that actions speak louder than words.
The Toy Bank Project
“Sometime when we are generous in small, barely detectable ways, it can change someone else’s life forever.” – Margaret Cho
The Toy Bank project is supported by The Toy Bank Charitable Trust. The 'Outreach Club' of Manava Bharati collected toys form the students for recycling and up-scaling through a collection drive in May 2018. The toys will be refurbished and repackaged into age-graded toy kits and re-distributed to villages in rural and tribal areas. We all got a BIG thank you form the kids and the NGO!
Green Schools Program
MBIIS prides itself for the work towards protecting the environment. We've taken several steps to harness energy and recycle materials at the Campus, and our teams continue to drive, participate and contribute to programs to further the cause. Recently, MBIIS was awarded at the Green Schools Program, under the aegis of the Centre for Science and Environment
Muskaan NGO
The core Manava Bharati's values bestow upon us, a responsibility towards the less fortunate members of our community. This value and responsibility is instilled in every Manavite. Our team visits numerous NGOs every year to interact with and learn from others in society. They carry the torch of hope, of camaraderie and always come away feeling more human themselves. Our team visited the ever-so-heartening Muskaan NGO, and interacted with the illuminating individuals there, who strive every day for self-dependence and command our respect for their boundless spirits.
Mass Literacy
The sum is always greater the parts - and when Minds are put together, even more so. Our students and counsellors got together for a think-tank session on how to enable, coordinate and drive a Mass-Literacy Campaign. Great ideas, tons of enthusiasm and lots of volunteers - what an outcome!
