Bharatnatyam Dance Recital by Shreasi Gopinath
'A combination of movement, expression and rhythm'
India International Rural Cultural Centre (IRCEN) Delhi organized a classical dance lecture demonstration in Manava Bharati India International school on 26th July, 2019. Ms. Shreyasi Gopinath, a graduate diploma holder from prestigious Kalakshetra Foundation’s dance was dedicated to ‘Practice makes a man Perfect’. She performed Bharatnatyam through pieces of Indian mythological scripts. She was accompanied by a vocalist, Ms. Richa and Master Gokul on Mridangam. In the program she gave demonstrations of the steps, facial expressions and gestures to the students.
Bharatanatyam makes the body and even the mind agile. A performer needs to remember steps their names, various steps, different moves, the beats and rhythm of the song. This develops mental skills and builds mental alertness. Her mesmerizing footwork, facial expressions and elegant dress in this vibrant dance form mixed with classical music created a memorable ambience which kept the audience spellbound.
