“Dance is an art that imprints on the soul. It is with you every moment, it expresses itself in everything you do” - Shirley Maclaine
It has been rightly said that dance is the mother of all other forms of arts. Music and poetry exist in time; painting and architecture in space. But dance lives at once in time and space.
On Thursday, 21 Dec 2022, the students assembled in our school auditorium to witness a lecture demonstration by artists from Delhi International Arts Festival. Founder, Director Shrimati Prathibha Prahlad, a highly respected performer, choreographer sent a team of artists from Delhi International Arts Festival who performed a piece conceptualised and written by Shrimati Alaknanda ji, a Kathak exponent, choreographer, art motivator & Director of Alaknanda Institute for Performing Arts. The ensemble, Maharaas, was performed on the melodious tunes of Mr Vijay Parihar and Mr Samiullah. The artists from Delhi International Arts Festival treated our students to a performance full of vibrancy, softness and rhythmic complexity. The rhythmic precision along with fleeting expressions were mesmerising!
