An interaction of Lt. General Kulkarni with the students of Manava Bharati
Arrival of an army officer of Lt General Kulkarni’s stature was an honour for the students and staff at Manava Bharati India International School. Our School’s Chairman Capt. V.K.Pandey is also an ex-Army officer and it was a pleasure to see the two army officers interacting. Lt. Gen Sanjay Kulkarni PVSM, AVSM, SC, SM, VSM who is a Shaurya Chakra & Gallantry Awardee disseminated details of acts of bravery and the life stories about himself and of his men. He shared his experiences about Operation Meghdoot. He narrated the challenges faced by the soldiers posted in Siachen Glacier that stem from the peculiar terrain and weather conditions.
It was a life altering experience for all of us when he shared the living conditions of the soldiers in the freezing cold temperature, reduction in human body efficiency, snow blindness due to bright light, blizzards and white out conditions, which were only a few of the many life threatening experiences that encountered, besides conquering the enemy.
Our students also got an opportunity to interact with Lt. Gen Sanjay Kulkarni, with questions relating to selection procedure in NDA, life of a cadet, lifestyle changes, role of army in non-war situations, government intervention and representation of the women in armed forces. Project VEER GATHA 2.0 served as a catalyst to not only make our students aware about the daring acts of bravery but also motivated them to join the Indian army.
