Heading: Nurturing Social Awareness: Students Reach Out with Compassion
Empathy is seeing with the eyes of another, listening with the ears of another and feeling with the heart of another.” – Alfred Adler.
A group of Class XII students embarked on a meaningful journey to Aarohan, an NGO dedicated to empowering underprivileged children, helping them overcome barriers and embrace their rightful place in society. Interacting with children at Aarohan opened our students' eyes to the struggles faced by the less fortunate. This experience sensitized them to the reality of deprivation and exclusion. Beyond sensitization, the visit nurtured prosocial behavior among students. They grasped the essence of contributing positively to the society they are an integral part of. This encounter emphasized the significance of service and caring for the well-being of others. The visit also played a role in honing crucial social skills. From empathy and cooperation to a sense of belongingness and building positive relationships, students gained insights that will aid them in navigating the world. Our students took the opportunity to educate the younger ones at Aarohan about India's freedom struggle. They highlighted the contributions of luminaries like Bhagat Singh, Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, and more. In a touching tribute, some students sang patriotic songs, honoring the bravery of our soldiers. This visit was more than a physical journey; it was a transformative experience that fostered compassion, social responsibility, and an awareness of the world's diverse realities. The students returned with hearts full of empathy and minds determined to make a positive impact.
