Nelson Mandela International Day - Madiba 100
WHAT CAN I DO? No matter how small your action, Mandela Day is about changing the world for the better, just as Nelson Mandela did every day.
Action Against Poverty, honouring Nelson Mandela's leadership and devotion in the fight against poverty and to promote social justice for all was celebrated. A special assembly was conducted with the inaugural speech on Nelson Mandela by Priya Singh, a student of class X. It was followed by a group song "We Shall Overcome” by school choir.
By becoming someone who makes every day a Mandela Day by taking action against poverty, our students showed that actions speak louder than words. An Interactive Open Quiz session was one such example where the students learnt a lot. Our Principal Ms. Mithlesh Chaudhari addressed the gathering and enlightened the students on Nelson Mandela. She talked about his life, his leadership and his devotion to humanity and to humanitarian causes.
To celebrate the true spirit of Nelson Mandela’s work for humanity, a group of school students along with Ms. Ankita Chakraborty and Ms. Divya Sood distributed nutritious snack to the students of Aparajita School at Chitranjan Park, New Delhi. Our director Ms. Bharti Pandey motivated us towards the pinnacles of glory and under her dynamic leadership the event was a great success.
