Planting a Tree of Life is a Motto of Manava Bharati India International school’s Van Mahotsava
Vanmahotsava is an annual tree planting festival in the month of July. This planting of trees ceremony has been a tradition of Manava Bharati India International School. Vanmahotsava is celebrated as a festival of life by planting trees or saplings in school. It was celebrated by pledging to care for the environment and to avoid activities that contribute to global warming.
The festival teaches the importance of trees and spreads the message of planting and nurturing them. The celebrations commenced with presentation of a sapling to the School Chairman. The school Director, Mrs. Bharati Pandey, highlighted the importance of being aware and responsible citizens. She asked the children to come together for making the environment litter and polythene free. The Director commended the students in their endeavour to start a movement to save mother earth, animals and plants of the campus and their neighbourhood . The celebrations continued with a ceremonial procession. Students in the procession danced and sang Rabindra Sangeet. Vanmahotsav ended with a plantation drive amidst the chanting of sholkas. Students representing the five elements of nature: Sun,Wind, Water, Fire and Earth showered their blessings on the saplings.
