"Empowering Young Minds” - A Visit To Goonj@MBIISdoinggood
As a part of their community service initiative, a group of students from class VII & VIII recently visited the offices of Goonj, a well-known non-governmental organization (NGO) in the capital city. Goonj is an NGO that focuses on creating a more equitable and sustainable society by addressing issues such as poverty, lack of education, and inadequate healthcare facilities.
The students were eager to learn about the work that Goonj does and how they could contribute to the organization's mission. Upon arrival, they were greeted by the friendly staff members, who took them on a tour of the organization's facilities. The students were amazed by the scope and scale of the work that Goonj does, including its impressive collection of clothes, books, and other essential items. One of the highlights of the visit was the interaction between the students and the people who work at Goonj. The students had the opportunity to speak with several employees, who explained the various programs and initiatives that the organization is involved in. The students were particularly impressed by the emphasis that Goonj places on sustainability and the environment, and how they are using recycled materials to create new products. The visit left a deep impression on the students, and many have continued to volunteer their time and resources to support Goonj's mission. It is clear that the students have gained valuable insights into the importance of community service and the impact that small actions can have on a larger scale.
